Visits

When a parent can’t come to us

We’ll meet at home, in the hospital or in a care home anywhere in the Quad Cities.

Theron Whitacre makes most of these visits, with a witness and a notary so the papers can be signed on the spot. We’ll call the care home ahead to book a quiet room, and we’ll keep it short if your parent is tired.

Where we go

  • Homes in Iowa and Illinois

  • Hospitals and rehab units

  • Assisted living and nursing homes

Questions

About visits

Is there a charge for a visit?

The first consultation is free wherever it happens. For the signing visit, the travel time is part of the fee we quote in writing.

Can you meet a parent with dementia?

Yes. We’ll talk with your parent to make sure they understand what they’re signing; if they can’t, we’ll talk about guardianship instead.

Can family be there?

Yes, though we’ll ask for a few minutes alone with your parent first.
